I’ll try after work today, but it just electrical tape. When I looked close at the motion sensor area on the camera I could see 3 rectangles towards the center. I covered over the one closest to the road.

Same problem here I thought maby it was my cam it’s self but no matter how small you make the zones it still detects outside of them. There totally useless and don’t work.

Yep. I really doubt it will be fixed either.

May just have to do like you did and run a strip of tape on the sensor.

It has helped a lot. It has knocked out about 90% of the crap activity zones were supposed to do. Night mode is another story. It will pick up vehicle lights 1/4 mile down the road under certain conditions. Vehicle lights were picked up last night, just not that far off.

That sucks. Yeah I’m going to try the tape thing next time I get a chance I have it pointing at my steps comeing up my porch so the only false alerts are the cars driving past on the left side so I think this should work out.

Has anyone noticed the motion detection AI getting even worst after the last update? My 2c cameras are on v1.6.2 now it’s not just passing cars outside of the activity zone that triggers, but even no motion triggers it.

Eufy must have changed something. The motion sensing zones seemed to work quite well on my system. Now they don’t.
I user to have 3 zones, and Irarely had any false alarms. Lately, probably since their latest pushed update, I get a lot of false alarms from bushes that are well outside the motion zones.

Same here - zones stopped working after latest camera update.

Got the same issue here. All movement outside activity zone got recorded and notified too. Seems like the activity zone is useless and it captures all movement from the viewing area. I got Eufy floodlight camera, btw…

LOVE IT!!! @jmiller148, whatever works my friend!

I have homebase 2 and 2 cameras, I love it, however I have a similar problem.
I use detection zones and human only, which do stop car detection etc.

My problem is:-

I received alerts when people walk away from the camera but does not give alerts when people walk towards the camera.

I think I have set it all up correctly but may have missed a trick.

Any ideas please?

Hi @stewart.campbell47

It sounds like the issue you are describing is the camera does not have the correct mounting angle.

The camera should be mounted 7 feet high off the ground and I believe at least 7 to 10 feet from where you are trying to capture. IE if your sidewalk or driveway is just a few feet from the camera the angle is not right and is one of the reasons why you are not capturing the motion detection approaching the camera.

A second reason why you are having issues is you have the camera mounted in a way where it’s trying to capture motion of people working directly towards it. I would recommend moving the camera over on the house so the motion it’s capturing is side to side with people walking by instead of directly towards. Almost all wireless residential security cameras have a hard time capturing motion of people walking directly towards.

I hope this was helpful!

Just bought the 2k Battery Doorbell.
ACTIVITY ZONES DO NOT WORK, was going to purchase the 2K standalone cameras when back in stock. Glad its out of stock as I will not buy it now and instead read reviews on cameras with working actvity zones.

I have set activity zones to cover the end of our driveway, so not even to include the main footpath and yet everyone who walks along the path (which is alot morning as you can imagine) prompts alert. Have set sensitivity high and low also. Human mode only.

The battery usage is insane because of this. 80 alerts in one day. Battery down to 90% after 1 day. So much for 6months battery life. What a joke.

I can not recommend this product and will be advising all others to stay away.

Only had this a few days, will attempt to return

Same problem… It seems the active zones are not working and it’s annoying. Even it sent alert with human detection, there were no one and no cars any movements captured. They should fix otherwise I will return.

I did installed as you described but I have same issues and the active zone is not working and capture and send every motions…

I’m struggling with activity zones too.
I’m stuck mounting the cams in the “ideal” positions due my the crap shape & position of my house (the “ideal” position would be better fixing it to nextdoors house as the mount doesn’t allow the camera to see what’s in front of the door), but surely that’s where activity zones should still work regardless.
I don’t really want to reduce the zones or sensitivity any more than I have as they’re already temperamental in detection, but what else can I do?

Even this app is dodgy - trying to upload a pic, but the button isn’t working.

I only bought these based on reviews scoring it highly… Maybe they’re wrong…?
