Cameras going offline

Same problem here. Seems to be a common issue. All 4 cameras went offline at the same time. A little bit later, one of them came back by itself. I removed another camera and re-added it, which fixed the issue temporarily. Now all 4 are back offline. Has anyone replaced the HomeBase with any success ?

Yep same problem except Im using the Solo and don’t have the homebase. Just purchased these for when we went away - after a day or so they all went offline! Their solution: re-sync ummm yep pretty hard to do when you’re away! And you pretty much can’t control it at all through the app when it’s offline! And no wifi issue problem I’m certain. So had my neighbours do a walk around and it woke all the cameras up - which is great but again I can’t go “live” when camera is offline and can’t always have someone around to wake it ip! Now new problem - I disarmed 2 of them as we are hone and I has gone offline- being that its disarmed even walking in front won’t wake it up!! So up the ladder is the only option!!! I moved to eufy from Ring as I thought it was superior but at least my ring is always awake!!

Do You have solar power connected or camera works on a battery?

Isn’t it about time that the problem of camera going offline is fixed. I have a camera that periodically drops offline the only way to fix is by getting ladder out and moving it next to base station to reset. Noting else works ie reboot etc. The annoying point it is the nearest camera to the box about 1 to 2 meters through the wall. The other cameras are much further away and through walls. Going to get ladder out tomorrow.

Same problem and it’s 2022, camera keeps dropping connection and it’s 2 meters away from the homebase, Firmware is updated to the latest but this problem is still there, I have an orbi wifi mesh router that covers the house and the homebase is not close enough to the homebase to interfere with it… any suggestions?

Same problem here

I’m new to Eufy security system, having installed mine just a few days ago (might not even have purchased it if I had seen this thread first!). Although it’s not been a long test, I think this might help some people. I realised this morning that the only camera which has been offline regularly several times every day since I installed it, is the one situated just a couple of metres from my router, but also from the adjacent SkyQ box which was registering its own strong wifi signal since we had it installed a few weeks ago. As we don’t need the wifi on the SkyQ box, because we don’t have multi-room boxes, I asked Mr Google how to switch off its wifi function. Ta-daaa! Camera has been online all day with no issues at all, no need to reboot or reinstall anything, and TV reception is unaffected. Won’t be of much use to those who need their SkyQ box to function as a wifi hub, but might be a quick fix for anyone having camera issues who, like me, didn’t think of the SkyQ box as a competing router. I will reply to my post if the issue reappears going forward.

What if this happens whilst being far away somewhere for holidays and you cant do anything!? Its happened to me now and anyone can tresspass my property. How do i know this wont happen again!?? I’m not an impressed customer especially paying a fortune on this!

Here the Same. The camera works fine About the Last 6 Month. After loading the Cam, its going offline every few days for about 1 day.

Now i switched the homebase-mode in the App from Standard to Power (Beta). The offline Cam is now available.

I’ve got the exact issue

My wireless 2k doorbell after months of working properly with no problems has started going offline constantly in the past few days.

@AnkerSupport

Come On, The updates towards the 4.0 app is giving us issues so bad our security system doesn’t work properly… would you please address this!

Camera’s constantly getting offline - before the announcement of the new app, all worked great!

If your team of coding specialists can’t get their head twisted around this, they should find themselves a new job! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I have the same issue. Stable internet and wifi connection. Several IoT items are connected with no issues. Previous home cam (different manufacturer) worked fine. Within 2 weeks from installation, the cam went offline few times. All failures happened in the exact hour 2:53AM. My ISP confirmed there are no issues on their side.
The issue is resolved after unplugging and plugging the camera from the electricity.
Luckily I get push notification from the Apple Home app, otherwise I wouldn’t bother checking it or looking at the status led…

@AnkerSupport, @anker_eufy How can this be resolved ?

Unfortunately, I have run in the same problem since installation and ended up visiting several forums to see if a solution is found!

After gathering some information and trying some things out I found the following:

  1. The fact that the Homebase goes offline happens when it is also connected with the Ethernet cable. When connected through WiFi it is important to be in close proximity to the router.
  2. The distance from the Homebase to the cameras has to be <10 m (according to their engineer when I tried to reach phone support) so you need to position the Homebase accordingly.
  3. Restarting the Homebase has intermittent success: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
  4. Something that I found interesting and I think cleared up the problem (or at least improved it significantly) is the fact that the Homebase uses channel 11 on 2G band to communicate with the cameras. If there are repeaters or access points running on the same channel this causes interference. I have 3 access points besides my Unifi Dream Machine which I managed to change their channels to the other side of the band (channels 1 and 6); this dramatically improved the reception of the Homebase and managed to “see” the camera that was away (9 m) after 3 days of trying (resetting, re-installing, etc.)
  5. I hope this works for a while, otherwise I’m thinking to consider a separate Homebase for the camera that is further away.

I agree. Months of stability and now cameras going offline all over the place. I don’t know what you’ve done in the background but you need to revert it quickly.

Lately 1 of my 2c camera’s are going off line for some reason and rebooting the homebase restores the connection and it would be pointless contacting Eufy support because they are useless so hope the camera is not going faulty because I will not replace camera because of Eufy’s policy of ignoring their customers issues. They are the worst company that I have had dealings with.

Same problem here. I did receive some friendly and responsive customer service as Eufy replaced my Homebase and 2 Eufy2C Pro cameras for free to see if this fixed the problem. Unfortunately, it did not. Everything works great for several days, then all cameras go offline. My other devices (motion sensors and keypad) remain online.

So I’m a little disappointed they don’t seem to have a technical understanding of this issue and apparently haven’t seen this forum thread in 2 years.

There are a couple threads over on Reddit where some people had success changing the WiFi channel on the router. I plan to try that next.

I used to have this problem and tried a combination of steps and now it’s all working. No idea which step was the solution but here it goes:

  1. Ensure camera is fully charged
  2. Assign HomeBase with a static IP Address
  3. If possible, connect HomeBase with a LAN cable
  4. Ensure 5Ghz WiFi is turned off from your modem
  5. Restart your internet modem. Once done, restart your HomeBase
  6. If your HomeBase comes back online, go to Working Mode and set to Performance (Beta)

Same problem, 6 cameras, one camera now going video feed offline following recharge, camera video feedhas twice come back online when movement triggered by a human.

However, the app reports the camera as offline but the offline camera still responds to an automated activation, e.g if an automated scripts calls for the offline camera to record video and sound an alarm, the alarm sounds and can be cancelled via the app, so the offline camera isn’t entirely offline.

At one point I tried viewing the live view of the troubled camera after the video feed returned briefly but was greeted with an error -204.

All this has happened in the last week.

I have a Eufy 2K Pan & Tilt Mini (version 2 of the indoor pan & tilt camera).

The camera goes offline everyday! The only way is to cut off electricity to it and then connect it again.

I have other Wyze cameras around the house (and a Wyze camera right beside the Eufy) and they have never gone offline. I’m very disappointed with Eufy!! I think the issue is the forced firmware updates to the cameras and they haven’t applied a method to downgrade to a prior firmware.

I’m looking forward to others’ comments on when this issue gets fixed!

(Going by threads from 2020, it does not look very reassuring…)
