Does this mean that HomeKit access to the Eufy Homebase still works when Eufy IT is down? Has anyone tried this?

Yes, hksv works independent of the eufy servers.

OK thanks… not sure I understand all the connection points but appreciate the info. The Homekit connections on my other devices seems very reliable.
