How do I get the cameras to record the cars & so on driving past my house?

Go into camera settings / Motion Detection and tap on the box to put a check mark on All Other Motion or All Motion.

or set a second detection box at a location focusing on the road.

Hope you have a very quiet road. It is annoying with lots of notifications.
