3 Second Recording Buffer on 2K Battery (now wired) Doorbell

Hello,

I’m looking at purchasing the 2K Battery Doorbell, then wiring it i so it’s mains powered.

Will powering from the mains enable the 3 second buffering which comes as part of the 2K Wired option?

I prefer the option of the Homebase because if the doorbell is taken as part of a break-in, I’ll loose the recorded footage. Let me know if this is nonsense.

Thanks!

Alex

The buffer is only available on the wired version. The battery doorbells don’t have that functionality even if you wire it. The AC from the doorbell transformer is only meant to trickle charge the batteries and doesn’t grant any additional functionality to the doorbell.

The Homebase does grant some protection if the device is stolen or damaged, but its not foolproof. See this thread.

I haven’t tested the doorbell, so not sure if the flaw is the same, but since all other devices have the issue, it’s best to assume it does.
